How are the millions of unemployed supposed to afford Obama’s mandate to buy from private insurance companies?

Private health insurance premiums are expensive.

What is in the bill that is going to control costs and helped people afford private insurance? Does anyone know?

Why do insurance companies have to be part of the national health care solution?

Insurance companies keep over 30% of your insurance premiums for themselves, which does not help you. Why not eliminate them and lower our health care costs?

Do insurance companies take wildfire risk into account when calculating home premiums?

Insurance companies take factors into account like flood, hurricanes and other acts of nature. Do you pay more for insurance if you live in an area likely to burn from a wildfire? How is that calculation made?

How and why is it that insurance companies can charge interest on unpaid premiums?

I have to agree with the Muslims here; interest is evil. Especially when you’re paying interest on such an intangible as insurance, and statistically, I probably won’t even use it.

How do insurance companies come up with there premiums?

Going to make a long story short, five years ago I moved to southcarolina from Boston. I bought a home and everything was escrowed ( taxes, insurance, payment ) I just found out that i have been paying over $1,700.00 a year for insurance. I have gotten five quotes from leading insurance companies and every quote is under $500.00 for the year. This is with the exact same coverage. Is that legal? Should i look into this a little closer? Thanks for your help. Jason

What is the true reason Insurance companies are hiking premiums?Lack of reimbursement from Medicare perhaps?

If it is just greed then surely they must know that the end is near for them? Premiums on Health ins. are going up 30%-60% Blue Cross etc/. They say that people are dropping them so they are raising the rates. Ah wait a minute. Ah don’t that mean more will drop them as well?
Is Medicare the underlying reason? Please explain?

Why do auto insurance companies have such huge differences in premiums?

We have 3 vehicles and 4 drivers. All drivers have clean driving records. 2 of the vehicles have full coverage and the other has liability. Allstate is charging us $1300.00 for 6 months. I’ve been shopping around and Geico would only charge $550.00 for 6 months for the same coverages. I have other quotes from other companies that are approximately $700.00 for 6 months. Farmer’s Insurance is the most expensive. They want $1500.00 for 6 months. Why is there such a difference in premiums?
